Hello! And we are back with a new year and some more sewing. I realize all my favorite clothes are the ones that I’ve made, so I’m trying to do a little more of that this year. And this time, one from scratch, and a not a fixer upper! I still have a bundle of clothes I’d like to refashion, but I am excited to make something new.

This shirt is ultimately 1960s inspired. It will feature a mock turtleneck neckline and short sleeves. I’m going to keep the bodice somewhat loose and will leave the sleeves some extra width for air flow.

Today, another salvage project from some of my husband’s old clothes. I’m going to try and turn one of his long-sleeved shirts into a skirt with pockets and an elastic waistband. I will use the buttons in the front to take it off and on.

My friend gave me a dress his wife was going to donate. I love the fabric, so I am going to redesign the dress. I’ve decided to take it in, shorten the length, and then will layer two gathered hems to the bottom of the dress. This should be fun!
