Today we’re going to do another quick refashion project as I’m still on new baby mode. My husband was getting rid of a plaid button down shirt because it had a teeny tiny hole, so I swooped in and claimed it for myself. Today we’re going to do a his to hers shirt refashion project with it. I’ve been wanting to do this type of clothing refashion for a while and this was the perfect opportunity to give it a go. I’ll also patch up that little hole, but I won’t cover it here because I don’t think you need help in that department. 🙂

DIY – Clothes Refashion Tutorial: Maternity Tunic to Summer Dress
While I was pregnant, I was given some much needed maternity clothes from a friend. Now that I’m not pregnant anymore, I’m working on some clothes refashion projects and am salvaging what I can from the clothing to be able to keep wearing them.
Among the clothing given was this cute little shirt/tunic thing. Now that I’m not pregnant, I didn’t think I could really pull it off anymore, so I decided to add a little length to make it a fun summer dress.
This is a super easy clothes refashion tutorial. The maternity shirt already had some length to it to be able to cover a growing belly. To refashion it to a dress, I simply sewed lace trim along the bottom hemline. The lace also really elevates the style, adding some much loved elegance.
DIY – Adding Inside Pockets onto a Blazer
Today we’re going to add inside pockets onto a blazer.  I love the blazer, but the pockets that came with it are essentially non-functional.  The opening is a vertical slit and they are only a few inches deep.  I’m pretty sure I would only trust them to hold my chapstick, if that.  So, we will be adding a pair of patch pockets to the inside of the blazer to make it that much more useful.
DIY – Upcycle Old Jeans into Ankle Length Summer Jeans Tutorial
I was cleaning out my closet a while back and decided to get rid of an old pair of jeans.  I loved them, but had them for years and they were wearing out around the back end, so I decided it was time to move on and tossed them into my bag of clothes to get rid of.  Recently, I was thinking of what to bring on my upcoming holiday and was wishing I had a nice pair of summer jeans to bring along.  I fell in love with the length of ankle jeans, like those that can be found at Forever 21 and Macy’s.  This length looks great with a pair of wedged sandals or heels and is a fun alternative to traditional shorts or capris.
I thought of this old pair of jeans and decided to upcycle them, and fix them up.  If I get one more season out of them, it would be worth while.  Well, they turned out better than I had hoped for!  I often pair these with my shirt that I made with my Upcycle Romper into Tunic Top Tutorial.  So, read on for my Upcycle Old Jeans into Ankle Length Summer Jeans tutorial…

I recently got the chance to have some photography done by the talented Dave Blenis showcasing some of my homemade clothes. Â I was blown away by his photographs. Â They made my clothes seem legit! Â I had made this shirt last year prior to my sewing blog, so never got a chance to share it until just now. Â Though I had made the shirt from scratch, the method of applying an open back bow can be used for any t-shirt refashion and is a fun and easy way to spice up your wardrobe. So read along for my T-Shirt Refashion – Open Back Bow Tutorial!
